Dhanesh R Jayathilaka is certified as a Professional Marketer by the Asia Marketing Federation and also holds the status of ‘Chartered Marketer’ awarded by Chartered Institute of Marketing-United Kingdom as well as the ‘Practicing Marketer’ awarded by Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). He is a Lecturer in Marketing at the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, and is currently lecturing for PCM, CIM & SLIM courses.
Dhanesh’s areas of expertise comprises of behavioural aspects of customers, ‘Exploring Consumer Behaviour’ and ‘Understating Consumer’.
According to many national and international corporates, his experience on attitude and behaviour of internal and external customers to serve corporates and non-profit organization is far more beyond as he perfectly understands the employee’s psyche towards its stakeholders and in return what stakeholders expect from the employees. He is a strong believer that Internal customer’s attitudes, motivation and perception are the key to success. He is a very careful observer of internal customer behaviour and its impact on external customers.
He is also regular contributor to many marketing magazines/news papers on Sales & Marketing with special reference to Consumer & organizational buyer behavior. Dhanesh is a speaker/Trainer on the said areas in Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Maldives and moreover he does research on consumer behaviour, emotional intelligence, spiritual marketing and body language etc..
He holds an MBA from University of Wales and he is a postgraduate Diploma holder from the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing; the National body of Marketing in Sri Lanka which is incorporated by an act of parliament. He is a member of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (MSLIM), a member of Asia Marketing Federation (MAPMF), a member of American Marketing Association (AMA)as well as a member of Chartered Institute of Marketing UK (MCIM).
He holds the post of Vice President for the council of management at Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (Non-profit) which acts as the consultative committee for SLIM, & Secretary General of the Asia Marketing federation Sri Lanka Association (ACSA). Dhanesh‘s Marketing career spans over 17 years, in diverse but equally competitive industries such as Healthcare (Pharmaceuticals/Nutraceuticals/Surgical) Telecommunication, Information Technology (including web & Social Media), Education & Training.
He started his career at UNICEL PVT LTD handling dental products manufactured by well established European organizations (Ivoclar Vivadent AG Schaan, Principality of Liechtenstein, DENTAURUM GmbH & Co. KGIspringen, Germany), thereafter joining Hemas Healthcare (Hemas Holdings (pvt) Limited.), Chemical Industries Colombo (CIC), IPCA Laboratories – which is in the top 10 pharmaceutical Companies in India and Nawakrama Pvt Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Nawaloka Group of Companies & led the SLT Publications Pvt Ltd Marketing team at Sri Lanka Telecom PLC as the Marketing Manager.
